Burton Delivers Health Care Cost Cutting Plan To HHS Secretary Sebelius
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: John Donnelly
October 8, 2009 (202) 225-2276
After Visiting Indiana's Daily Med Pharmacy In June, Burton Personally Brings Health Care Solution To Health Secretary
WASHINGTON, D.C. - During a briefing with the Republican Study Committee late last night, Rep. Dan Burton (R-IN-05) personally delivered a letter
to Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, about a cost cutting health care solution originating from his tour of DailyMed Pharmacy of Indianapolis on June 22, 2009. Rep. Burton spoke directly to Secretary Sebelius about the DailyMed system, where over-the-counter medications are pre-sorted and packaged with the date and time the medications should be taken. By some estimates, DailyMed could save almost $500 million annually by reducing errors when America's ill take medication. The same letter has been sent to President Obama and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
